08/16/07 - cwl 2 racing was eager to be participating in the 14th annual running of the Summer Shootout in the #72 Methodist Motorsports Evangelism/ Pro South Promotions Bandolero.

The 2007 Edition of the Bandoleros Outlaws Division promised to be quite a bit different than in past years as a large group of drivers moved up to other racing series and divisions, shrinking the car count down to a more manageable number. This year's group of drivers ran the most caution free races of any division and produced some great racing.

cwl 2 racing was more prepared to begin running at the drop of the first green flag and finish results this season were the proof. After a slow start in Round #1, Charles Jr and cwl 2 racing racked up 6 top 10 finishes and even made the newly created Shootout Chase, called the “Sizzler”.

“Even though points did not matter to the team, it was a lot of fun to run as well as we did”, says Charles Jr.

The 2007 Summer Shootout has been a very blessed time for cwl 2 racing. They were blessed with safety while on track, blessed to be associated with Methodist Motorsports Evangelism, blessed to have the knowledge and experience with Jeff & Kendall Sellers and Mike & Chris Morgan at our side, blessed with competitive runs on the track, blessed to have the freedom to have fun hobbies like racing to participate in for which we are very grateful for.

As part of being prepared for the season; cwl 2 racing owes a tremendous amount of gratitude to our Methodist Motorsports Evangelism teammates Jeff & Kendall Sellers and Mike & Chris Morgan for their knowledge, patience and willingness to assist. The Team's success was mostly because of these gentlemen.

Now it's time to schedule events for the remaining of the year as Charles Jr gets back into his other jobs of being a Boy Scout Adult Leader with his son's troop and U9 Girls Soccer Coach with his daughter's team. cwl 2 racing looks to attempt to run a handful of races at Concord Motorsports Park and in exhibition at the Fall Cup events at Lowe's Motor Speedway in October.
